Computer Literacy Class
Classes held at MBFLC and CEC

This class consists of 10 hours of direct instruction and 10 hours of supervised practice lab. It will cover basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills as well as Internet exploration and creating an email address.

Digital Camera/Photo Editing
Jane Knaub
Bring your digital camera to class. You will need a USB cable that you can plug into the computer and your camera to download your pictures. We will then make basic edits to your pictures using a free software program called Picasa. Learn how to crop and get rid of "red" eye. Learn how to download Picasa onto your computer at home. Bring a flash (USB, jump, thumb) drive so you can save your pictures and take them home with you. Two sessions are being offered. Indicate on registration which class you would like to attend. Two-hour class. |

New to the Computer? Novice User Class
Jane Knaub
Learn how to operate a mouse by clicking and dragging. Learn the difference between hardware and software and the various components of a computer as well as the basics of operating in a Windows environment. Create files and folders and open and close windows.
Four-hour class.

Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2007
Jane Knaub
Use Microsoft Excel 2007 to create spreadsheets. Learn how to enter labels, values, formulas, and functions as well as how to format cells. Create a basic chart and use a fill-handle to copy formulas and information.

Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
Jane Knaub
Use Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 to create a slide show. Learn how to create and edit slides. Use PowerPoint views, format text and slides, spellcheck, insert clipart and animation schemes.

Microsoft Word 2007 (Tables, Columns, Envelopes, Labels)
Jane Knaub
Learn how to insert a table and use table tools to merge and split cells, align text, change row height and column width, apply shading and borders. Insert newspaper style columns and text boxes and clipart. Learn how to create a sheet of return address labels for yourself. Learn how to create and print an envelope.

Learn how to create a bracelet by stringing beads. Make to fit your wrist size or for gift-giving. Use jewelry wire and learn how to crimp and attach a toggle closure. All materials needed will be included in the kit. Teacher will supply tools for use during the class

Learn how to create your own pierced-ear earrings. Make wrapped loops and work with headpins. All materials needed will be included in the kit. Teacher will supply tools for use during the class.

Free Form Wrapping of Sea Glass or Pendant
Jane Knaub
Learn how to take a piece of sea glass, shell, or pendant and wrap it with German-style craft wire. "Take it home and hang it on a chain or necklace. All materials needed will be included in the kit. Teacher will supply tools for use during the class.

Right Angle Weave Bracelet
Jane Knaub
Learn how to bead weave using the right angle weave (RAW) stitch. We will be making the bracelet from stone chips, but you can make it using round beads. The weaving is done using Fireline and a needle. If you do not finish in class, you will be given the supplies to complete at home.
All materials needed will be included in the kit. Teacher will supply tools for use during the class.
