MEET THE ARTISTS

Ruth Cox
Ruth is a native of the Grand Strand. She is a former teacher and volunteer in the school system. She is a member of the Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild and the Seacoast Artist Guild of SC. She has won numerous awards and her work may be viewed at

Wynona Fleishman
Wynona is an Art Graduate from Pembroke State University. She studied at the Instituto de Allende in Guanjuato, Mexico. She was there from the Summer of 1968 to 1969. After teaching art in Red Springs in the spring of 1970, she found herself at the glamourous locale of the Outer Banks, NC where she owned and operated an art gallery for a number of years.

Stuart Fleishman
Stuart has been painting since 1980 with an extensive background in the Visual Arts. A few instructors Stuart has studied under include Alex Powers, Carlo Dalio, and George James.

Kate Lagaly
Kate has created art as long as she can remember. She has a BA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. She has taught high school art as well as art to people of all ages. Kate's paintings can be found in private and corporate collections all across the country. Her art has been a finalist in the Paint America Top 100 National Exhibition.

Anita Lopez
Anita has been creating handcrafted art objects since childhood. Her distinctive jewelry has been shown in galleries and museum shops since 1980. Her many interests have led her to create significant works in decorative painting, fiberarts, collage, and sculptural lighting.

David Hammond
David was born in Conway, SC. His family encouraged him to pursue a career in the arts. He was influenced by cartoons, movies, and video games. David has worked doing caricatures in Myrtle Beach. He works in the area as a humorist and a free lance artist. He is entirely self-taught and boasts strengths in illustration, color theory, portraiture, 3-d modeling, and other media.
