General Education Development

This program is an alternative means for adults to obtain a high school credential. The General Education Development (GED) test is a nationally recognized program. The test covers competencies in:

Interpreting Literature and the Arts
Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
Writing Skills

A Passing Score of 2250 is required in SC with an average of 450 on each of the tests with no less than 410 on a single test.

The GED test is administered throughout the year by the South Carolina State Department of Education. It is given at various locations statewide. It is given in the Conway area several times a year. A $80 fee is charged for each attempt.
 You must register with the SC Department of Education.
