CANDI BEVERLY- CONWAY AE

Hello My Name Is...

Candi Beverly

I have lived in Conway since 1970. I began my teaching career at South Conway Elementary School. I left teaching in 1974 for several years to raise my family. When I returned to teaching in 1983, I taught Language Arts at Conway Middle School. I also taught Adult Education part time at night and fell in love with teaching adults. In 1985, I was given the opportunity to teach Adult Education full time. I taught for two years at the Canal Recreation Center in Myrtle Beach then transferred to Conway. At that time, the Conway Adult Ed Center was on Hwy 90. In the early 90's we were moved to the Aynor-Conway Career Center campus on Four Mile Road. In 2003 we moved to our present location on Sherwood Drive. The best part of teaching adult education is the ability to get to know the students so well. Since the students spend most of their instructional time in one class, we get to interact with our students on a very personal basis. It is fascinating to watch the children of the students who use our daycare grow and change. I really get to develop a close relationship with many of the students.
